Our History

Kastanje Grande Council  traces its origins to the late 1990s, when a group of renowned and respected gentlemen came together with a shared vision of  unity, cultural values, and mutual support among members in the Netherlands. Following a series of meetings and deliberations, the organization was formally established under the name “Oranje {N}. During this foundational period, Mr. Charles was elected as the first President, while the late Mr. Siemeke served as Vice President.

In May 2005, leadership was transferred from Mr. Charles to the late Mr. Siemeke, who became President, with Mr. Jomo serving as Vice President. Following Mr. Jomo’s relocation from the Netherlands, Mr. Ken assumed the position of Vice President. In the same year, and in the spirit of continuity and growth, the organization adopted a new identity “Kastanje {N}, the name by which it is proudly known today.

In September 2010, the late Mr. Siemeke handed over leadership to Mr. Luciano as President, while Mr. Cliford was elected Vice President. It was during this administration that discussions began regarding the need for the organization to attain chartered status as an Aviary Grand Council.

On 29 November 2014, Mr. Luciano Officially handed over leadership to Mr. Egbe Eghosa as President, with Mr. Ralph serving as Vice President. Under this administration, the chartering process gained full momentum, culminating in a historic achievement on 31 October 2015, when Kastanje was Officially Chartered as an Aviary Grande Council. Demonstrating its commitment to transparency, legality, and responsible leadership, Kastanje Aviary was officially registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce on 19 February 2020, thereby becoming a recognized legal entity under the laws of the Netherlands.

On 29 February 2020, Mr. Egbe handed over leadership to Prince Noble as President, while Mr. Ralph retained his role as Vice President. Under Prince Noble’s leadership, Kastanje Aviary achieved another historic milestone by hosting the very first Europa Converge in the Netherlands an event that has since become a celebrated annual tradition in Europe.
